Gary Lineker was trolling Chelsea as they slumped to a 3-0 home

Proceedings at Stamford Bridge hadn't even come to a close and Gary Lineker was trolling Chelsea as they slumped to a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Manchester City.

One of the main differences between the two teams, aside from the obvious brilliance of Sergio Aguero's hat-trick, was Kevin de Bruyne, the former Chelsea man who was a constant thorn in the Blues' side, creating chances left, right and centre as City continuously hit Guus Hiddink's team on the counter attack with ruthless efficiency.

Many Chelsea fans have been left scratching their heads as to why the Belgian playmaker was allowed to depart the club for Wolfsburg in 2014, as he has quickly become one of the most potent attacking talents in world football since he left Stamford Bridge, first for Wolfsburg and then for City, this season. A fact that wasn't lost on Lineker, who cheekily tweeted the following message to his 4.7m followers:

Personally we think, even if they'd had De Bruyne at their disposal this season, the Belgian would have been powerless to prevent the disastrous defending that has plagued the Premier League champions throughout the 2015/16 campaign.
