Schumacher treatment cost $ 60 million


The serious skiing accident suffered by Michael Schumache r complete two years in December. His recovery is slow and the family, discreet, prefer to omit details about the health of the German. However, the British newspaper The Mirror estimated that families already disbursed more than 10 million pounds (about US $ 60 million) in the former pilot of treatments of 46 years. 

The seven times world champion of Formula 1suffered a fall and hit his head while skiing in the French Alps, on 29 December 2013. After the accident, Schumi was induced coma, underwent two surgeries to remove blood clots from the brain and remained six months in a coma in hospital in Grenoble, to get out of the coma and be able to be transferred to a recovery clinic in Lausanne, Switzerland. A year ago, the German was discharged and went to recover in his mansion in Gland, on Lake Geneva. Schumacher is assisted daily by a team of 15 professionals, including physical therapists and nurses. 

The hugely successful in F1, combined with their business away from the tracks, the German secured a fortune estimated at 300 million pounds (about US $ 1.8 billion). The wealth accumulated by former pilot ensures the continuity of his expensive treatment for a long time. Recently, the British media said Schumi would have lost a quarter of their body weight, and was weighing only 45 kilograms, in addition to continuing unable to walk, talk and to recognize the environment around them. 

According to Sabine Kehm,family spokesman, the pilot has a slow recovery, but progressive, "taking into account the severity of injuries in his head." The doctor François Payen, responsible for the first service to Schumi in France, said it will take at least three years for the German present significant improvements.
