Where is Alan Pulido?

Mexican authorities today confirmed the disappearance of footballer Alan Pulido - who play for Olympiakos Pireu, in his home state of Tamaulipas - northeast of the country, and said that people who allegedly deprived of freedom have not established contact with the family.

The state prosecutor, Ismael Quintanilla, told media that Sunday morning, after returning from a party that was made north of the city, striker "was intercepted by armed persons and since then his whereabouts are unknown" .

It confirmed that from Tamaulipas prosecutors have "no knowledge that (the perpetrators) have spoken with the family."

Quintanilla said that is already on the case and, on instructions from the Interior Minister, Miguel Angel Osorio, federal forces support in the search and location of the player.

Footballer's brother, Armando Pulido, told the media that the striker was kidnapped at dawn and that the family has "full support" of the governor.

Pulido is considered one of the Mexican attackers with further progression since 2011 and in recent months has been at the center of the controversy over his differences with his former club Tigres of the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon (UANL), champion Mexican soccer.

Returning from World Cup Brazil 2014, Pulido showed interest in emigrating to Europe, since it claimed to have completed his contract with the "cat", but the club showed no and that caused a major conflict.

Personalities and Mexican soccer teams expressed today in social networks solidarity with the player's family.

"At this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with Alan. We sincerely hope that this ordeal will finish soon and Alan back home safe and sound," wrote the official Twitter account of Olympiakos.

The Mexican footballer Alan Pulido has been released by police after being kidnapped about 24 hours, government sources have confirmed his home state of Tamaulipas.

Reforma newspaper quoted on its website, the rescue operation was injured, but no casualties.

The player was being held in a safe house in Ciudad Victoria, the state capital.

Pulido, Greek Olympiakos player, was kidnapped early Sunday by armed men while returning from a party.

The state government made public a few images in which the player appears, after his release, with a bandaged hand and chatting with Governor Egidio Torre.

"I'm fine, thank God," said the striker, 25.

Pulido was taken to a hospital for referring to a medical examination.

The player is not called up for the Copa America Centenario starting this Friday.

After playing several seasons in the Tigers of the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (UANL), Pulido left the club in 2014, after the World Cup in Brazil, to Europe. Currently maintains a legal dispute with the Tigers because of the contract that bound them.
